Objective

After completing the course, the student - can plan and carry out versatile learning entities in Arts and Skills. - can solve practical problems in carrying out artistic projects. - understands the connections of arts and skills with the comprehensive growth, development, and learning of a child. - is able to analyze, estimate and document learning processes in direction of the targets. - is able to apply and integrate physical education, visual arts, music, handcraft and drama educational contents in defragmented learning situations and entities. - is able to work collaborately.

Content

The development of children in the preschool and primary school age. The basics of primary school level pedagogy in arts, skills and drama education. Practical exercises in different areas of arts and skills. The integration inside the art and skill subjects and also between them and other subjects.

Qualifications

Recommendation: Art and skill study modules or early childhood education study modules earlier passed.

Contact teaching focusing on close teaching.

Accomplishment methods

Study methods: Contact teaching 94 h, of which large group lectures 4 h, small group teaching 90 h. Student’s independent work 149 h. Small group teaching is divided in different areas: music education 20 h, physical education 20 h, drama education 10 h, visual arts education 10 h, handicraft education (soft and hard materials) 20 h, integrative project 10 h. Evaluation criteria: Active participation to large and small group teaching and doing the assigned exercises: Pass/fail. Doing the given learning assignments: 0-5 (PE 25%, Music 25%, Handicraft 25%) Visual arts and drama education Pass/fail. Report of the integrative project 0-5 (25%)
