Objective

This course will advance your knowledge of structures that are essential in terms of understanding and writing standard language, such as non-finite clauses.

Having completed the course you will
1) be able to recognise the most common non-finite clauses
2) know a few infrequently used structures
3) have the opportunity to achieve the level B2.1 in text comprehension of the six-level CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

Exercises on language structure and text comprehension.

Qualifications

XFIN0225 Advanced Finnish grammar and writing or corresponding skills (language skill level A2.2–B1.1).

Teaching of Finnish as a second and as a foreign language.

Timing: Spring term.

Execution methods

Group meetings 36 hours and independent work 45 hours. To complete the course, you have to actively participate in the exercises, complete your assignments and work independently on what you have learned.

Accomplishment methods

Regular attendance (80%) in group meetings, active participation in the exercises, and completing the individual and group assignments. Final exam.
