Objective
The student participating in the course acts as the international student ambassador of Lapland University of Applied Sciences.
After completing the course, the student is able to:
- to describe Finnish and northern culture, Lapland University of Applied Sciences and its international operating environment, and to recognize the importance of internationalization for students as part of university studies and in their future careers.
- market internationalization opportunities and act in various demonstration situations.
- work constructively with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Content
What will you do as an ambassador?
- Participating in to the ISA training organized by International Services
- Organize International Day with International Services (once/semester)
- If requested, take part in info sessions about possibilities for internationalization that International Services or different study fields are organizing
- Host international visitors of Lapland UAS and organize campus and city tours
- Helping the incoming exchange students of Lapland UAS
- Social media marketing
- Other tasks given by the International Services related to international cooperation
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
- Participation in training, planning and activities
- Activity reporting and returning the report as instructed.
- You can market and present the exchange opportunities of Lapland University of Applied Sciences using different channels.
- You can guide international guests and introduce them to the destination organization, city and Lapland culture.
- You can take into account the perspectives of group members from different cultural backgrounds and work as a member in the international team.
