Content
Lawyers and judges work continually with different conflicts between people. This course will cover the basics for conflict theory (including new perspectives from the fields of psychology and neurology) and link the theories into practical examples and conflict resolution exercices in which the students are able to practice on real conflict cases. A central aspect on the course is the action of lawyers in conflict situations and in resolution; how can a lawyer be most useful to the client's case, especially in real estate disputes. The course also includes a section about custody disputes. All the teachers on this course have strong practical experience on conflict resolution. This course unit develops the following generic traits: - ethics - leadership and development - critical thinking - identification and development of expertise

Accomplishment methods
The course consists of 20 hours of lectures and exercices as well as group work and conflict resolution practice (attendance is compulsory). The course is very practical and thus students are expected to participate actively in all meetings. Evaluation criteria: Active participation in the seminar meetings will be graded Pass/Fail.
