Objective

By the end of the training period, the student should be able to - familiarize oneself with working life - acquire working life competence - identify what knowledge and skills are needed in that particular area of training - introduce/use academic skills to practices in workplaces - develop professional skills in toxicology

Content

The work has to be controlled in all cases by a teacher of MDP in Toxicology (TOX). Voluntary studies in the TOX can include practical training in research laboratories, private enterprises, research institutes, and in governmental agencies etc. in Finland and abroad within EU. The positions and tasks must be agreed beforehand with the course director and the supervisor from the training place. The working plan should include a description of training place, supervisor, assignments, and date. After the training, student has to write a training report (3-5 pages), that will be approved by the course director. The report should include at least what was the purpose of the work; the character of employment; the position of the trainee; content of the work; what did the student learn. It can also include a copy of the putative scientific work report or manuscript. The report is given to the course director, who will evaluate it and give the credit points.

Qualifications

The positions and tasks must be agreed beforehand with the course director and the supervisor from the training place.
