Objective
Learning outcomes: 1) To develop a broad view on drug absorption, distribution and elimination, 2) To learn the basic principles in clinical pharmacokinetics, i.e., in the optimization of drug therapy for an individual patient.
Content
Scientific competence: 1) Role of pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) studies in drug development, 2) Description of pharmacokinetic events with mathematical models, 3) Utilization of models in clinical pharmacokinetics, i.e. in the optimization of drug therapy for an individual patient. Professional competence: Solving pharmacokinetic patient cases with both basic calculations and mathematical simulation models.
Qualifications
Basic principles in Pharmacokinetics or comparable knowledge.
