Objective
Learning outcomes: After the course, the student understands the principles of relational database design and their mechanics; is familiar with Database Management Systems and their areas of usage; is able to create database design diagrams and implement them in real databases; is able to use graphical and shell based Database Management Systems; and is able to utilize databases as a part of an information system.
Content
Data management concepts; designing relational databases; concept analysis and Entity Relationship-diagrams (ER-diagrams); data models; basics of the SQL language; Database Management Systems (eg. MariaDB); small-scale database based application development.
