Objective

Learning outcomes: Upon the completion of the course, the student is able to - evaluate the profession of a researcher as an orientation - prepare and present a scientific paper of his/her research - reflect upon his/her learning process in a report

Content

During the course, the student becomes acquainted with the profession of a researcher of church music and reflects upon his/her developing professional identity. The student learns about the scientific congress practices in the field of church music. He/she prepares a scientific paper and presents it.

Execution methods

The student may proceed with the course after passing the Methodology and Graduate Seminar (Church Music.) - A plan of completing the course must be approved by the professor of church music. The writing of a study journal begins with the acceptance of the plan. - The conference paper is written on the basis of an accepted Master's Thesis.

Accomplishment methods

The study unit consists of two parts: 1) the profession of a researcher (3 cp) and 2) scientific presentation (2 cp). The parts may be completed separately. Modes of study: 1) the profession of a researcher: lectures and/or assignments 54 h and writing a report 27 h, AND 2) scientific presentation: independent work and presenting a paper 54 h Evaluation criteria: Assignments, a report (study journal, c. 3–4 pagers), scientific paper (20 min., including an abstract and slides), pass–fail
