Objective
Upon the completion of the course, the student - has gained extensive experience in rehearsing and conducting the choir - is able to compile a well-grounded concert programme independently - is able to use his/her expertise in the field of church music - has deepened their own expertise and skills in leadership and communication Generic Competences: Leadership and development, Identification and development of expertise, Interaction and communication
Content
During the course, the student - rehearses and conducts the choir in an exam or in a public concert - becomes acquainted with working with different types of choral formations - becomes familiar with different styles of composing and different composition of Orthodox church music - develops his/her expertise in choral conducting and choir psychology
Qualifications
Participation in the course presupposes a completed Bachelor’s degree or a completed set of supplementary studies (those admitted directly to studies on the Master’s level). In addition, Choral Conducting 2 (minimum grade 4) Piano 3/3 b) exam part and Choral Singing must be completed before this course.

Execution methods
Part of this course can be completed by attending course Choral Singing for one extra year and completing conducting exercises there. The course can also be completed by conducting the repertoire in a public concert and the board evaluates the conduction. In this case the student must also take an exam by giving an example of playing the partiture, using the tuning fork, and rehearsing the choir.
Accomplishment methods
Modes of study: Exercises supervised by a teacher 16 h, supervised rehearsing with the choir 16 h, singing in the choir 64 h, independent work 297 h, exam or concert 12 h Evaluation criteria: Active participation in the teaching (attendance requirement 80 %) and a conducting exam evaluated by a board, 0–5: - rehearsing the choir: new piece (made public seven days before the exam at the earliest) - conducting three pieces from the rehearsed programme (the board selects two of these) - example of playing the partiture (piano) - use of the tuning fork
