Objective
Upon the completion of the course, the student - is able to evaluate the theoretical and methodological principles of music pedagogy - has gained deeper competence to apply theory into practice in the context of music education in a congregational setting - is able to design and conduct pedagogically relevant teaching - is able to evaluate their own development as a specialist on the topic
Content
During the course, the student becomes acquainted with the theoretical background of music education, and music pedagogy as applied. The student practices and designs two cases of their own. The student reflects upon the development of their own competence.
Qualifications
Participation in the course presupposes a completed Bachelor’s degree or a completed set of supplementary studies (those admitted directly to studies on the Master’s level).

Execution methods
The observance of authentic situations of music education is based on agreement with the respective parish and/or conservatory. The student presents their own cases in a chosen parish upon agreement.
Accomplishment methods
Independent work (401 h), of which 10 h consist of observing authentic situations of teaching music. Assignments, study journal. Presentation of two cases (4 h). Evaluation criteria: Assignments, 0–5. Presentation: teaching prepared and conducted by the student, 0–5. The assignments and the presentation are complemented by writing a study journal evaluating the student’s process of development in the field of expertise (9 p.), fail-pass.
