Objective

Learning outcomes: Upon the completion of the course, the student - is familiar with the central literature which is related to the theme of his thesis - is able to pose research questions to the chosen material and answer to them - is familiar with the chosen research method - is familiar with the good scientific practice and manner of presentation - is able to present conclusions in a logical way and critically evaluate them

Content

The student writes a master’s thesis on the basis of his seminar presentations and under the guidance of the professor.

Offering data: Major students of church music Campus: Joensuu Language of tuition: Finnish In exceptional cases, the thesis may be written in a language other than Finnish. The student must get a permission from the Head of School before starting. Generic skills: Critical thinking, Ethics, Interaction and communication

Accomplishment methods

Modes of study: Independent work in the supervisor’s guidance 810 h. The thesis may also be written in the form of an article thesis. Evaluation criteria: The criteria for a Master’s thesis as formulated by the Philosophical Faculty, 0–5.
