Objective
Learning outcomes: Upon the completion of the course, the student - is able to describe the chant traditions used in the Finnish Orthodox Church and their origins - is familiar with the development of chant books and the art of composition in the Orthodox Church of Finland - is able to analyse the historical development of the cantors’ training and profession in the 20th–21st centuries
Content
During the course, the student becomes acquainted with the chant traditions in the Orthodox Church of Finland, the field of composing and publishing church music, and the cantors’ training and profession.
