Objective
Learning outcomes: Upon the completion of the course, the student - is familiar with composition styles of church music in different periods - has gained experience of different methods of analysing church music - is able to apply his/her musical-theoretical skills in the analysis of selected compositions
Content
During the course, the student becomes familiar with the styles of composing Orthodox church music in the Slavic (including Finnish) tradition from the 16th century until today, and with the general principles of composing and setting music in the Orthodox Church.
