Objective

Learning outcomes: Upon the completion of the course, the student - is able to produce a research plan and a scientific presentation - is familiar with the methods and fields of study in church music - is able to evaluate the research plans and research of others, and to give and receive feedback - is able to discuss and argue in a scientifically appropriate manner - is able to analyse research data using scientific methods and write a thesis based on it - is able to write a research report - has acquired tools for postgraduate studies

Content

The student is familiarised with the phases and methods of research process in their field of study, conducting research on church music, and critical evaluation of different researches and their own thesis. The student produces and presents a research plan and a minimum of two presentations. The student also acts as an opponent to research plans and presentations of others and learns to write and discuss scientifically.

Accomplishment methods

Modes of study: Research seminar 48 h, independent work 222 h. Attendance requirement 90 %. Evaluation criteria: Pass–fail. In order to pass, the student must produce written works, complete assignments given by the teacher and participate in the seminar.
