Objective
Upon the completion of the course, the student - has acquired skills to act as a responsible singer and participate committedly in choral activity - is familiar with different areas of the art of choral singing (rehearsal, concert) - has gained experience in interaction and communication as well as sustainable and responsible work Generic Competences: Identification and development of expertise, Interaction and communication
Content
During the course, the student becomes familiar with selected Orthodox choral repertoire, rehearsal techniques, concerting and liturgical practice. The course includes an introduction to organizing concerts (PR, contracts, copyright reporting, producing an audio recording).

Campus: Joensuu Further information: Choir for the course is Johannes Teologin Laulajat. The choir can also function as a practice and examination choir in studies of choral conducting. Accomplishment methods
Modes of study: Participating in two separate productions (rehearsals and concert or recording). Rehearsals c. 48 h, productions 6 h. The course includes the compulsory participation in the choir of another study unit, Choral conducting 2. Evaluation criteria: Active participation (80%) in rehearsals and completed productions, pass-fail. Incomplete productions do not count for passing the study unit.
