Objective

Upon the completion of the course, the student is able to - define analytically the historical development of Slavic Orthodox church music, its chant books and musical notations - explain basic terminology of research on Slavic Orthodox music - communicate in a group and in digital environment (modes of study 1–2)

Content

Historical development of Slavic church music tradition, chant books, and notations from the ninth to early twentieth century, with main emphasis on the history of Russian ecclesiastical music. Terminology of the field of research.
