Objective
Practical training performed during Internship is essential part of the engineering degree. The Internship is goal-oriented and versatile work which introduces you to work-life rules and practices.
The training helps you to apply your knowhow in real-life situations, motivates you in your studies and helps you to orientate your studies according to your own learning path.
Content
The student performs the internship in Lapland UAS mechanical engineering laboratory environments during the academic year.
The content of the Internship will be agreed in the beginning of the work, the student can affect to the contents also.
The internship will be performed in Lapland UAS laboratories.. The internship will be supervised by Lapland UAS professors/personnel.
The work consists of different tasks (research, design, development, build work etc.) and the goal is to introduce different mechanical engineering topics through practical work.
Possible laboratory environments are:
- Renewable Energy Laboratory
- Smart manufacturing laboratory (SmartLab)
- 3D printing laboratory
- Automation laboratory
- R&D – department work and laboratories
- other Lapland UAS laboratories and environments

DDP Internship 1: Fulfilling the goals set for the work
DDP Internship 2: Writing an internship report
Approved:
The student has performed the required training period in his/her own professional area´s environments and tasks.
The student knows how to describe his/her own competence and adopt own skills in real-life situations.
The student reaches the goals set for the work.
Failed:
The student has not participated to the required work and has not fulfilled the demands of the work.
