Objective

Nursing Administration and Leadership 3 ECTS
Competence Goals:
The student becomes familiar with authorities, legislation and rules that govern the social services and heath care sector in Finland. The student perceives the concept of strategic management and what it means in the organizational context of social services and health care. The student can explain what a strategy map is (client perspective, process perspective, employee perspective and financial perspective) and to know its contents and meaning in the work of a nurse. The student is able to explain the concept of working life skills (leadership and management skills, organizational citizenship behavior) what is meant by it and what these skills mean in terms of a patient/client who needs care /services The student will analyze his/her personal working life skills and recognize the development needs in them . S/he will also perceive the means s/he can use in professional growth and self -management. The student knows the core duties of an immediate supervisor in nursing work and s/he can apply quality and health economics based thinking in practical clinical work.
