Objective

After completing the course the student is able to
. identify social work as a global profession
- recognize the transnational nature of issues such as poverty, immigration, violence, and environmental degradation that require a global perspective from social work.

Teaching profile: FACE-TO-FACE.

Content

The course focuses on social work as a global profession, and deals with the key phenomena and social work practices that take glocality and cultural aspects into account. Additionally, the course explores the meanings, practices and implications of social work from a global perspective. The course may contain some small online exercises.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Failed (0): The seminar work is highly deficient or erroneous, or it contains significant misunderstandings. The student has not participated at all in seminar work or other activities related to the course.

Satisfactory (1): The seminar work does not demonstrate familiarity with the phenomenon. The content of the seminar work may be inadequate or very unclear. There are clear deficiencies in addressing and contextualizing the chosen phenomenon. Participation in seminar work and other activities related to the course is passive.

Adequate (2): The seminar work discusses relevant theories and research findings, but the treatment is list-like and mechanical. The analysis may be too narrow, broad, illogical, or poorly defined. The structure of the work is somewhat disorganized. Participation in seminar work and the program of the course is passive.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): The seminar work has a relevant topic and meets the task requirements, showing understanding and analytical skills. The conceptual framework and previous research are addressed, but there are some deficiencies or inconsistencies. Participation in seminar work and other activities related to the course is partially active.

Excellent (4): The concepts used in the seminar work are clearly presented, and the subject matter is relevant and well-justified. The seminar work is well-structured. Participation in seminar work and the program of the course is mostly active.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Outstanding (5): The seminar work's framework and terminology are skillfully derived and justified, demonstrating exceptional skill. The handling and interpretation of the literature used are careful and diverse. The structure and content of the work reflect the ability to structure and execute scientific argumentation. The performance includes well-founded original thinking or critical reflection. Participation in seminar work and other activities related to the course is self-initiated and active.
