Location and time

2019-2021 Tornio - MS Teams
The project activities are implemented in six semesters
Each project partner hosts one semester except for the lead partner that hosts twice
The host is responsible for acquiring commissioners from own local region
Groups of students are involved from all HEI partners
Each semester one group of selected students from Lapland UAS get to visit the host and meet local commissioners and fellow students from partners countries

Teaching methods

BRIDGE – Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability
The project aims to:
Creating /maintaining partnership between SME, municipalities, universities, business associations;
Contracting SME-Student relationships;
Define work tasks for students;
Build student teams;
Mentoring and evaluating the cooperation process;
Work seminars and evaluation workshops with students, academics and SME staff;
Publication of outcome and research results

Employer connections

BRIDGE project aims to:
enhance employability of university graduates;
help to overcome a gap between requirements of SME and students’ competence level.
provide firms with opportunity for becoming acquainted with future employees, students for meeting potential employers.
support international knowledge mobility.
aid existing partnership of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) serves partnership building with SME.

There are five partners HEI in the project
Students from Finland, Norway and Russia work in mixed teams

3. Petrozavodsk State University,
4. ITMO University St. Petersburg,
5. Lapland University of Applied Sciences

Student workload

An official kick-off of the semester via MS Teams
Student-teams begin team bonding and dynamics, getting to learn team strengths and weaknesses
Student-teams learn about the commissioners and the tasks and begin background studies
Student-teams meet face-to-face for a week in the host country and interview the commissioners for in-depth knowledge of the tasks to acquire concrete idea
Student-teams continue online teamwork towards finding proper solutions to the tasks
Student-teams present to commissioners and coaches their work outcome in form final presentation
Each team will be assigned its own coach.
