Objective

After the course, the student can apply the rules of economical approach and evaluate the need for criminalizations from an economical point of view, the factors effecting to the quantity of criminality and the cost-efficiency of criminal politics. This course unit develops the following generic traits: - digitalization - ethics - internationality - critical thinking - identification and development of expertise

Content

The course introduces the need of criminalization, the economical analysis of a criminal’s behaviour and criminal politics.

Määttä – Pihlajamäki 2003: Rikoksen hinta. Taloustieteellinen näkökulma rikosoikeushistoriaan.   Cooter - Ulen 2011: Law and Economics, 6th edition, luvut 12-13 (tai uudemmasta painoksesta vastaavat luvut). Hellman – Alper 2000: Economics of Crime. Theory and Practice. Fifth Edition (tai uudempi).
