Objective
Learning outcomes: On completion of the course the student • masters some of the most central theories of second language acquisition and is able to describe language learning by using appropriate terminology • can describe the role of various mental and cognitive processes and external factors in language learning • can analyze learner language and the learning process • understands the relationship between second language acquisition research and language teaching The course develops the following work life skills • Meaning-making, holistic management capability, time management, information retrieval, argumentation skills, language skills, intercultural skills Generic competences: internationality, critical thinking, identification and development of expertise, interaction and communication

Lecture and exercise course
Accomplishment methods
Modes of study: Lectures and excercies (20 h), learning assignments completed in groups and individually (115 h). The course requires 80 % attendance. Evaluation criteria: Active participation in contact teaching, learning assignments and a final essay. Grading: 0-5.
