Objective

The student- gains an overview of the field of the learning sciences; - gains an overview of developmental theories and diversity and equity perspectives in learning;- understands learning in the life course and in human activities inside and outside of formal education; - recognizes needs for learning within and across the contexts of early childhood education, lifelong learning, vocational education, teacher education, university education, and sectors of society connected to them.

Content

The course offers an overview of the learning sciences from the perspective of EDU research and with an emphasis on learning and development in the life course and in a wide range of human activities: - Overview of the field of the learning sciences- Developmental psychology perspectives in learning in the life course and diverse activities- Diversity and equity in learning - Adults’ learning in activities outside formal education
