Objective
Having completed the course, the students can use appropriate greetings and present themselves, order in a cafe, discuss studying, work, free time, hobbies, and their plans for the near future as well as ask the way and give instructions. The students can use the vocabulary and linguistic structures needed in these communicative situations. The objective is to attain the level A1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
Methods of completion
Contact instruction on Zoom or other web meeting. The course includes guided independent study in Moodle and pair and group exercises in the net meetings. The course progresses rapidly, and learning requires attendance of the contact sessions as well as regular independent study.
Methods of completion
Participating in instruction 26 h (minimum attendance requirement is 50 %), completing the course assignments and exercises (49 h) and three exams (6 h), (81 hours in total). Completing the course requires that the minimum of 50% attendance in the instruction and completing the assignments and exercises in the given schedule. Evaluation criteria Active participation in the instruction pass-fail, video and written assignments pass-fail, exams 0-5. The lowest passable score in the exams is 65% of the maximum score. The final grade of the course is the average of the three exams 0-5. The resit of the exam is approximately in a month from the exam. After this, the next possibility to attend a resit will be when the course is organized next time. To enrol in the resit, send an email to teacher of the course no later than ten days before the resit.
Content
Students will practice using both written and spoken French in the communicative situations listed in the learning outcomes and learn the necessary linguistic structures and vocabulary needed in these situations as well as get acquainted with the French culture and customs.
