Objective

After completing the course, the student will be able to - identify and analyze dimensions of pre-primary and early primary learning environment (classroom atmosphere, teacher-student relationship and interactions, children’s peer relationship) and learn their developmental mechanism in children’s social and cognitive development - apply observational methods in classroom interaction and between children’s and teacher interaction - apply research-based knowledge in his/her teaching style

Study methods: Distance learning 18 t. Study circle assignment, observational task of classroom interaction, study report and independent work 117 t. Evaluation criteria: Active participation in distance teaching and study circle assignment pass-fail. Study report 0–5.

Content

Teachers teaching style and interaction. Teacher-child relationship. Children’s peer relationship. Methods of analyzing classroom interaction in pre-primary and early primary education.
