Objective
Learning objectives: The student will deepen his/her knowledge of Swedish vocabulary, its different layers, changes and new words. The student will also deepen his/her knowledge of phraseology and idioms, the stylistic value of words and regional variation (especially in Finnish Swedish and Swedish Swedish). On completion of the course, the student will: - identify the different types of words in Swedish vocabulary (indigenous words, old borrowings, new borrowings) - understanding the causes of vocabulary renewal and the factors influencing vocabulary change - is able to analyse words semantically, i.e. has a command of lexical semantics - can better recognise the stylistic value of words - has a better command of idioms, phraseology and idioms - recognises the specific features of Finnish-Swedish vocabulary and understands the reasons for them. The course develops, inter alia, the following work skills: - Language skills, especially vocabulary.
Methods of completion
Modes of study: Study mode 1: Exercises (approx. 24 hours) with active participation (attendance 80%). Exercises and independent study (approx. 111 t). Assignments and exam. Final assessment according to the teacher's instructions. Study mode 2: Electronic exam. The student will contact the teacher if they want to take the exam course (e.g. for access to the examination material). Assessment criteria: Method 1: Final assessment according to the teacher's instructions. Performance method 2: Electronic exam.

The course deepens the student's previous knowledge of Swedish vocabulary and its various features.
