Objective

Learning outcomes: Students obtain good understanding on the structure and mechanical properties of biological materials, as well as experimental measuring techniques and theoretical models in biomechanics, including solid and biphasic materials. After the course, students should especially understand the mechanisms involved in biomechanical behavior of biological tissues and know how to measure and model the properties of these materials. The course develops the following generic skills: critical thinking, identification and development of one's own expertise, and interaction and communication.

Methods of completion

Lectures 28 h (20%), Tutorial 20 h (14%), Group Work 12 h (9%), Independent Study 80 h (57%)

Methods of completion

Modes of study: written exam Evaluation criteria: 0 (Fail) ‐ 5 (Excellent)
