Objective

The student understands the main principles of financing. He/she knows the connection between risk and return.
He/she understands company’s basic capital structure and the cost of capital.
The student is familiar with the principles, terms and legislation governing investing.
The student knows how to make investment calculations and understands the meaning of time value of money.
He/ she knows the role of financial analysis in investing and finance.

From September 9th until the 7th of December 2021

Exam schedules

Exam is on the 22nd of November from 12.30 to 15.00 on campus. Retake exams will be organized in December - January depending on the need.

Student workload

5 credits equals to 133 hours of student work.
There are lectures for 45 hours.
The remaining 88 hours is reserved for doing the assignments, preparing for classess, group work and preparing for the exam.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Level 1
the main principles of financing and investing:
The student understands the main principles of financing and is able to perform basic calculations for financing and investing.
He/she understands company’s basic capital structure and knows the connection between risk and return.
The student knows the principles, terms and legislation governing investing.
He/she knows the meaning of sustainable investing.

Level 2
the main principles of financing and investing:
The student understands and is able to utilize the principles of financing. The student is able to calculate for financing and investing.
He/she understands company’s basic capital structure and understands the connection between risk and return.
The student knows the principles, terms and legislation governing investing,
He/she understands the impact of sustainability for investing.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Level 3
the main principles of financing and investing:
The student understands the principles of financing and is able to make financing and investing calculations.
He/she understands company’s capital structure and is able to utilise financial analysis for decision-making purposes.
The student is able to apply his/her knowledge of sustainability and investing for choosing the suitable investment opportunities for companies and or individuals

Level 4
the main principles of financing and investing:
The student understands financing and is able to make financing and investing calculations with some analyse.
He/she has a good understanding of company’s capital structure and is able to utilise financial analysis for decision-making purposes.
He/she is able to give recommendations for choosing the suitable investment opportunities for companies and or individuals.

Level 5

The student demonstrates a deep knowledge of investing and finance and is able to make alternative calculations and analysis for decision-making purposes.
