Objective

The student knows the concept of volunteering and is able to identify suitable options for volunteering and understands how he/she is able to benefit the non-profit sector.
He/she knows how volunteering can enhance one’s motivation and leadership skills and is able to analyse the outcome of volunteering afterwards.
The student is able to make an individual plan and implement it into practice.
He/she understands the volunteering project and its outcomes.

- The concept of volunteering

- Volunteering in a non-profit organisation; giving back

- Analysing the outcome of volunteering

- Volunteering as a way to self-improvement and motivation

- Volunteering project plan, implementation, reporting and analysing

Teaching methods

Learning process is organized through the project work and problem-solving process. It includes teamwork, team tasks, team tutoring, independent studies and knowledge acquisition activities.

Level 1
The concept of volunteering:
The student knows the concept of volunteering and how it can enhance his/her motivation and leadership skills.
He/she is able to identify suitable options for volunteering and understands how he/she is able to benefit the non-profit sector.
The student is able to make an individual volunteering plan and implement it into practice. He/she understands the outcomes of project implementation.

Level 2
The concept of volunteering:
The student can describe the concept of volunteering and how it can enhance his/her motivation and leadership skills.

The student is able to make an appropriate individual volunteering plan, implement it into practice and report on the project and its results.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Level 3
The concept of volunteering:
The student understands the concept of volunteering and he/she is able to analyse how volunteering can enhance his/her motivation, leadership skills and give possibilities for personal career path.

He/she is able to make an appropriate individual volunteering plan, implement it and evaluate the project and outcomes.

Level 4
The concept of volunteering:
The student has a good understanding of the concept and meaning of volunteering and he/she is able to analyse and justify how volunteering can enhance his/her motivation, leadership skills and give possibilities for personal career path.

He/she is can make an appropriate and justified volunteering plan and implement it.
He/she can evaluate and analyse the project, its outcomes and meaning.

Level 5
The concept of volunteering:
The student has a command of the concept of volunteering.
He/she is able to evaluate how his/her skills are best utilised to benefit the non-profit sector and to critically evaluate how volunteering can enhance his/her motivation, leadership skills and give possibilities for personal career path.
The student is able to motivate others to volunteer.

He/she is able to make a detailed individual volunteering plan and implement it successfully.
He/she is able to critically evaluate the volunteering project and its outcomes and give development ideas.
