Learning objectives:
The student:
- knows the system of social and health services providing welfare and social security and its functions
- knows the main principles of the Social Welfare Act (1301/2014) in regard to social services
- knows the main principles of the Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients in the implementation of social services
- can take the significance of distances into account in social services

The student can describe the principles of welfare policy and the basis of social and health policy. The student knows the main principles and service systems of the Health Care Act, Social Welfare Act and Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients.

Good (3–4):
The student has a good grasp of the principles of welfare policy and the basis of social and health policy. The student has a good grasp of the contents and service systems of the Health Care Act, Social Welfare Act and Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5):
The student has an excellent grasp of the principles of welfare policy and the basis of social and health policy. The student has an excellent grasp of the contents and service systems of the Health Care Act, Social Welfare Act and Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients.
