Objective

This is a service design internship. Having completed the course students can assess their own skills in relation to the needs, tasks, and challenges of the work environment.

Execution methods

Full-time work practice 1–3 months, a work practice report 5-15 pages with attached certificate of employment. Study profile: Online 2. This means that the implementation only includes assignments that are completed independently and assessed by the teacher. There is no pre-determined schedule for the implementation.

Accomplishment methods

The report must be returned within 3 months of the end of the practical training.
1 month work practice, 5 pages report & attached certificate of employment = 5 cr.
2 month work practice, 10 pages report & attached certificate of employment = 10 cr.
3 month work practice, 10-15 pages report & attached certificate of employment = 15 cr.

Content

Work practice in a workplace approved in advance by the responsible teacher.
The work practice report must include the following:
- description of the workplace and own duties
- how the skills learned at the university have been used at the work
- a description of the exercise/design tasks (e.g. pictures, sketches of the different phases of ideation for the task) or a analysis/review of a specific problem/function of the workplace, possibly related to the theory of the service design.
- what new things related to the main subject, perspectives, etc. the practical work gave
- description of the organization and its operating environment
- possible work tasks in the workplace after graduation

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Fail/pass

Fail: Performance is highly deficient or erroneous. The work may be based on serious misunderstandings.

Pass: Performance corresponds to the assignment, manifesting comprehension and skill to analyze and justify.
