Opetusmenetelmät
Learning outcomes:
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to political economy and especially the role of law therein. More specifically, this course focuses on societal transformations and the role of law in them, from the perspective of political economy.
After having completed this course the students will be able to:
• recognize the basic concepts and themes in political economy
• relate these concepts and themes to their ongoing PhD research
• question the way in which the role of law is usually understood in relation to the societal phenomenon that they are doing research on
• critique the role of law in governing this phenomenon.
Implementation methods:
• Read the three pre-assigned articles
• Participate to the seminar organized on 19 March 2024
• Participate to the PhD workshop organized on 20 March 2024
• Write a short argumentative text on the topic you chose to discuss in the workshop (deadline on Friday 19 April 2024)

Grading:
The course is graded on a scale from 0–5. Grading is based on active participation to the workshop and the written assignment.
