After completion of the course the student is able to
- acknowledge qualitative research tradition
- produce a qualitative research setting
- collect research material
- make basic analyze.

Toteutustavat

Teaching profile: FACE-TO-FACE.
The course is a based on a short-term intensive contact teaching course. The course consists of lectures, group work and individual tasks.

Suoritustavat

Successful completion of the tasks given in a course.

Sisältö

This course familiarizes students with planning and making research, and formulating research questions in qualitative research tradition.

Fail (0): Performance is highly deficient or erroneous. The work may be based on serious misunderstandings.

Sufficient (1): Performance is lacking in scope, or superficial, or corresponds poorly to the assignment. The author lists relevant things, but out of contexts. The work may contain errors or obscurities

Satisfactory (2): Performance is lacking in scope or corresponds poorly to the assignment. The author lists relevant things out, but one-sidedly. The work may contain errors.

Good (3): Performance corresponds to the assignment, manifesting comprehension and a skill to analyse and justify. The author has addressed the issue comprehensively. The work may contain some deficiencies.

Very good (4): Performance corresponds to the assignment, manifesting comprehension and skill to analyse and justify. The author addresses the issue comprehensively, and is able to evaluate the importance of the empirical findings and offer possible interpretations.

Excellent (5): Performance delineates an extensive whole and the author can apply knowledge in a multifaceted way or place it in various contexts. The work manifests independency and insight, and it is a flawless entity that involves justified thinking or critical contemplation. The work is well written and implemented.
