Objective

The student is able to communicate interactively in English in communication situations faced by an ICT-engineer. The student is able to prepare and give a professional presentation and can communicate professionally by phone and e-mail. The student is able to work in meetings and negotiations in English and can write memos, reports, abstracts and other texts related to the engineering profession and use a style appropriate to each situation. He understands texts in his field and is able to use information and communication technology terminology. The student takes multiculturalism into account in communication.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1:
Acts as a representative of a company in his field at a trade fair when allowed long preparation and use of aids. Has some knowledge of the technology company's procurement process and related documents. Follows negotiations and attends meetings, but needs support for active interaction. Writes documents, reports and other texts related to the engineering profession using aids. Masters some key technical terms in their field of technology and specialization. Uses the basic structures of the language most often correctly and pronounces in an understandable way. However, language skills limit communication. Occasionally demonstrates situational awareness in multicultural interaction.
Grade 2:
Represents a company in their field at a trade fair and is able to present the systems they represent in English mainly in an understandable way and draws attention to the appropriate style. Mainly familiar with the technology company's procurement process and related documents. Follows negotiations and attends meetings, but needs support for active interaction. Writes documents, reports and other texts related to the engineering profession using aids. Masters key technical and professional terms in their field. Uses the basic structures of the language mostly correctly and pronounces intelligibly. Language skills limit communication to some extent. Demonstrates a fairly good sense of situation in multicultural interaction, although language skills limit communication to some extent.

Represents a company in professional field at a trade fair. The student is able to present systems and products in English without misunderstandings and in an appropriate style. Knows the acquisition process of a technology company and is able to prepare related documents. Works in meetings and negotiations in various roles. Writes clear documents, reports and other texts related to the engineering profession. Uses the terminology of technology. Uses language structures mostly correctly and pronounces naturally and clearly. Demonstrates a good sense of the situation in multicultural interaction without language skills limiting communication.
Grade 4:
Represents a company in professional field at a trade fair. The student is able to present systems and products in English fluently and in an appropriate style. Knows the technology company's procurement process well and is able to prepare related documents. Works in meetings and negotiations in various roles. Writes clear and well-structured documents, reports and other texts related to the engineering profession. Uses a wide range of technical and special terminology. Uses language structures correctly and pronounces naturally and clearly. Demonstrates a good sense of the situation in multicultural interaction without language skills limiting communication.

Grade 5:
Represents a company in the professional field at a trade fair. The student and is able to present the systems and products offered by the company in English very fluently and accurately in an appropriate style. Knows well the technology company's procurement process and is able to prepare various related documents. Works convincingly in various roles in meetings and negotiations. Writes clear and well-structured documents, reports and other texts related to the engineering profession. Uses special technological terminology skillfully and accurately. Uses versatile grammatical structures and masters them almost flawlessly. Pronounces very naturally and clearly. Demonstrates excellent situational awareness and language skills in multicultural interaction.
