Teaching methods
The starting point of the course is to consider creativity and art making as a constant solving problems process. We will pay attention about notions of context, process, project, “utility”, “sculpture”, “decorative”, “design”, planification, improvisation, individual and collective research. Our interest will be to build bridges between the notions that are the most relevant for you.
Students will explore a few improvisation techniques as ways to encourage their own creative process a bit out of its usual zone. The clay medium will be used as an improvisation tool, not a visual ending result. Based on collective discussions and individual improvisation in the making, wherever the current improvisation skills of the student, the goal is to empower the student’s inner creative process. This course offers to students the opportunity to learn more about their own creative process, their improvisation aptitudes and empower their fun to create, whatever the context.
At the end of the course, students should be able to point out similarities and differences regarding their own creative process and the ones of other students.

Completion alternatives
By the end of the course, students should be able to recognise similarities and differences regarding their own unique process and the approaches of their fellow students. Finally, the appreciation of the process as a result, rather than a final artwork, is another important aim of this course.
If you miss the first class session and have not discussed your absence with the teacher, your place can be given to the first person on the waiting list. Remember to cancel your registration if you will not be taking the course.
Normally, 80% of attendance is required. That been said, this course is strongly based on discussions (two-way, and as a group) so we highly recommend you to be fully present.
