Objective
After completing the course, the doctoral researchers will have improved in their ability to:
- reflect on the starting points, argumentation and methods of their research projects
- assess the reliability of research
- discuss the essential questions of research in general and in particular.
Execution methods
This course is implemented online, and it includes assignments to be carried out both independently and in small groups. Online meetings are also included.
Accomplishment methods
Attendance in online meetings and active participation in the work and meetings of one’s small group. The participants will be appointed to small groups before the beginning of the course.
Content
The doctoral researchers will reflect on and learn ways to assess the reliability of research, elements of good argumentation, and to understand differences between disciplines.
Location and time
The course will begin on Moodle on Wednesday 26 January 2022. The seminar of this course will take place online on 13 April 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm (local Finnish time).
Qualifications
The course is arranged for doctoral researchers at the University of Lapland.
