Objective
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to * explain, evaluate, and compare the key concepts and theories of developmental psychology * name the key aspects of psychological development and the key factors affecting development at different stages of life * explain the relationship between individual development through life course and family context, other social environments, and cultural factors * identify of the most common research methods in developmental psychology
Content
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to developmental psychological thinking. This is done by familiarizing student with the basic questions, concepts and key theories of developmental psychology. The student will also be introduced to the most common research methods in developmental psychology and to reporting the research results. The aim of the course is that the student learns to use the concepts of developmental psychology research and theories in understanding and supporting development. After completing the course, the student will have a basic knowledge of the key aspects of psychological development and the factors affecting development at different stages of life. The following topics will be covered: * Key questions and theoretical concepts in developmental psychology * Psychological development, areas and stages of development * The role of biological, social and cultural factors in development * Developmental psychological research settings and methods

Execution methods
Online: all course components apart from the examination may be completed online. Lectures max 24 h and other work for about 110 hours.
