Objective
The students know and understand the theories of economics applicable in the field of multiple-use forestry. They learn how to use the basic methods of economic analysis in multiple-use forestry and ecosystem service valuation. The students also learn to know how non-market goods and services of forests can be promoted.
Content
Basic concepts of neoclassical and institutional economics in the context of multiple-use forestry, multiple-use of forestry in different countries, cost-benefit analysis in multiple-use forestry, valuation of ecosystem services, payments for ecosystem services and non-wood forest products.

Course is offered annually every spring. Course is intended for students in MSc EF, CBU, Transfor-M and WMS programmes as well as for the exchange students of the School of Forest Sciences.
