Objective
Upon a successful completion of this course, students have a deep understanding of contemporary forest management in different regions of Europe. In addition, they are aware of the influence of historical, cultural, and geographical factors in European forestry. The course develops the following generic skills: internationality, sustainability and responsibility, critical thinking, identification and development of expertise, interaction and communication.
Content
An intensive field course where students will familiarise themselves with topical forestry issues in European countries (Austria, France, Germany, Romania and Spain). Country specific specialists from forestry organisations are providing latest insight to local themes. Comparison of pan-European practices will demonstrate operations in various ecological and economical conditions.
Qualifications
Available only for the students of the MSc European Forestry degree programme.

The course is organised jointly by MSc European Forestry Consortium universities. Every year in May. The language of instruction is English.

Accomplishment methods
Intensive field course including forest and cultural visits, lectures, seminars, and presentations. The stu-dents are required to carry out group work, discuss given topics, and prepare individual reports. Evaluation (0-5) is based on the given assignments.
