Objective
After completing the course, the student will be able to • identify safety risks related to the working in laboratory, • choose appropriate personal protective equipment and use laboratory safety equipment, • master safe and accident preventive working in laboratory, and • know how to act in the case of an accident.
Content
The course consists of an overview of general work safety and chemical safety in laboratories. The focus of the course is on personal protective equipment, safe work practices and prevention of accidents, fire safety, chemical safety, and laboratory waste management. In addition, the basics of electrical safety, mechanical safety, and physical safety, as well as first aid in typical laboratory accidents, are covered.

Passed/failed based on on-line exam.
