Objective

After completing the course, the student will: - be familiar with the legal position of Civil Servants and municipal officials, as well as the relevant legislation on collective bargaining system - know the central terminology and other defining features of the doctrine of the sources of law, and the general obligations and responsibilities of officials; and know how to apply their knowledge on appointing and dismissing officials in practice. The course unit will develop the following generic traits: - ethics - leadership and development - critical thinking - identification and development of expertise - interaction and communication

Content

This course takes a look at the law of both Civil Servants and municipal officials. Focus is on the conceptual framework and the system of principals of Civil Servant law, the obligations and responsibilities of different parties in collective bargaining agreements, and the collective bargaining system in general. Particular attention will be paid to the legislation on appointing and dismissing officials in practice. Modes of study: Optional online lectures 20 hours, exam 4 hours, and independent study 111 hours.
