Objective

After the course, you will - understand the basics of legal argumentation, e.g. sources of law and interpretation methods of law - become familiar with legal regulation and the basics of legal order as well as key areas of law and the their basic concepts - recognize the key legal trends This course unit develops the following generic competences: digitalization.

- Key starting points to legal interpretation and argumentation, key trends of law and the legal system - The characteristics and key concepts of public law, civil law and criminal law - The outline of legal protection system

Execution methods

Opintojaksolla on käytössä digicampus-oppimisympäristö, jossa opiskelija suorittaa opintojakson tentin. Opiskelija voi suorittaa tentin haluamaansa ajankohtana Digicampuksessa.

Accomplishment methods

The course has two alternative modes of study: 1) Degree students at UEF: - compulsory lectures in the autumn semester (2+4 h) - independent study of written material and exam in the Digicampus learning platorm 2) Non-degree students: - voluntary lectures in the autumn semester (4 h) - independent study of written material and exam in the Digicampus learning platform - in order to complete the exam and course, the student must register as a student in UEF's Open University (and pay the course fee) Evaluation criteria: pass- fail The exam is a 40-question multiple choice exam. The student must answer correctly to 20 questions to pass the exam.
