Objective

Learning outcomes: At the end of the course the student will • be familiar with the central phases and development of literatures in English and some key literary works • be able to tell about the changes in and contexts of Anglophone literature The course develops the following work life skills: Language skills, multidisciplinarity, knowledge of socio-cultural contexts related to specific countries, meaning-making, time management and prioritisation Generic competences: ethics, internationality, critical thinking, identification and development of expertise, interaction and communication

Content

The lectures introduce the students with the development, historical periods, and contemporary trends in English-language literature (realism, modernism, postmodernism, and postcolonialism).

Theory and research texts ca. 40 pages.

Accomplishment methods
