After completing this course, the student is expected to: • have developed an individual artistic practice and be able to connect it to art theory • be familiar with and able to define the diversity of contemporary art • be able to communicate about contemporary art and design and their connection to the tradition of art history • understand the concept of context and how it relates to contemporary art • be able to read and refer to texts about art and art theory

Contents of the study unit Lectures, group assignments, artistic assignments connected to the topic, as well as independent work in order to understand the relationship between artistic practice, contemporary art and theory. Questions of contemporary art and its role, meaning and function in today’s society. Exhibition planning.
