Objective

1. Student is able to recognise and prevent health risk factors. 2. Student is able to implement nursing care to a patient with chronic diseases and give evidence-based guidance to a patient using nursing process. 3. Student is able to give palliative care for terminally ill patient and provide support to a patient and his relatives 4. Student knows epidemiology, ethology, disease characteristics and the medical treatment of chronic diseases 5. Student understands the role of the regulatory systems in nursing. 6. Student is able to describe pathology and pathophysiology related to chronic diseases. 7. Student gains the basic knowledge of microbes and is aware of the immune system.

- Nursing care of chronic diseases and guidance 5 cr - Pharmacology 1 cr - Medical studies: chronic diseases 2 cr - Anatomy and Physiology: nervous and endocrine systenms 2 cr - Microbiology, pathology and pathophysiology 2 cr
