Objective

Students learn basic facts on numerical methods and softwares, they learn to analyse round-off errors, solve equations with fix point iteration methods, gets familiar with interpolation and approximation methods, learns to construct Lagrange interpolation polynomials, cubic splines, and least squares polynomials, is able to solve systems of equation with LU matrix factorization and numerically withJacob and Gauss-Seidelin methods, learns basic munerical integration methods, like Simpson method, solve differential equations numerically, likeRunge-Kutta method. During the course students learnt to use computer software (like Mathematica or Matlab) when solving problems in exercises. Course develops critical and analytic thinking, problem solving skills and IT skills (Maxima or Matlab).
