Objective

Upon completion of the course, the doctoral researcher has developed analytical and interdisciplinary thinking by actively attending seminars, reading scientific articles, discussing and commenting on them. The doctoral researcher has acquired a deeper understanding of diverse business phenomena, research methods, and approaches. The doctoral researcher has acquired the skill of critical scientific literature reading and evaluation.

Content

The course consists of five topic specific seminars. Titles will be announced later.

Target group: Doctoral researchers of OBS and other doctoral researchers of the University of Oulu. Other information: The number of students is limited.

Execution methods

Onsite active participation to all of the seminars. Recommended optional program components: There is an option of taking seminars one by one. Each seminar equals one credit (granted only after completing entire course). To pass the whole course (5 ECTS) and to be evaluated student must have taken all the seminars and write a final report, which covers all six topic specific seminars.

Accomplishment methods

15 hours of seminars, independent studying 142 hours. Assessment methods and criteria: Active participation in seminars, special assignments of each individual seminar and learning diary upon completion of all five seminars.
