Forestry Project (7op)

Osaamistavoitteet

OBJECTIVE:     In the course the topic is different every year. The forestry project mostly develops and deepens the students’ abilities in different kinds of planning work. The student will learn how to plan a project and how to accomplish it. The students divide the tasks in the project. Especially the leader team but also the other students learn to organize and manage their own and other`s work to accomplish the project in time. The students learn to evaluate their own and others work during the project.
CONTENT:       Forestry oriented project, which is realized together with forestry students of Lapland UAS. Students will participate in the project get familiarized with the project plan and timetable. Every student has a position in the organization of the project. They will join the project by getting their own duties and responsibilities as any other participant.  Together they accomplish the project and make the final report for the customer. Most of the projects have been forest management planning, landscape management planning and ditch network maintenance planning.
PEDAGOGICAL
ARRANGEMENT: Lessons on project planning and management. Students do group and individual work for the project and they write the report.
EVALUATION: The quality and quantity of work done for the project. Students cross-evaluate each other`s work and do self-evaluation.
