Objective

After completing the course a student is able to
-actively participate into projects, trade fairs/exhibitions or competitions-identify and select projects, trade fairs/ exhibitions or competitions important to the design field-make a plan to participate into a project, trade fair/ exhibition or competition-acquire information and apply it to the project, to a trade fair/ exhibition or to a competition-prepare a report on project work, participation in a trade fair/ exhibition or in a competition

Content

Participating in projects, making a project plan; or participating in a trade fair/exhibition in an individual or in a joint stand; or participating in competitions according to the rules.

Additional information
When you are planning to participate to a competition, note the following:
• contact a tutor to discuss and agree on issues related to the submission of a competition (at least on a schedule).
• Competitions must be new, ie. they have been made during the same semester/study year
• Assemble a concrete report for evaluation that includes
Assemble a concrete report for evaluation. The report must include:
o the documentation you submitted for the competition. The document is either a duplicate or a copy of the original work, or electronic, if you have participated in the competition with an electronic material
o an invitation to the competition (competition task, rules, competition committee)
o own background material that shows the total process of your work (eg.research, sketches, photos) and the time spent on preparing and implementing the competition
o NOTE! If you have participated in the competition as a working group, you must be able to demonstrate your own share of the whole
o one (1) A4-sheet reflective text describing how the work you submitted to the competition and your own work fulfills both the objectives of the competition and the objectives of the course. You can also comment on the results of a competition or your own success in it.
• Be sure to clearly indicate the course name and code, including your name and student number.

Execution methods

Meetings related to the project or trade fair/exhibition, guiding discussions and independent work; or independent work for the competition.

Accomplishment methods

Active participation in a project or a trade fair/exhibition, accepted course work related to a project or a trade fair/exhibition, presentation of a project or a trade fair/exhibition. Report on a project, a trade fair/exhibition or a competition.
Participation into a project or a trade fair/exhibition must be discussed and agreed with the tutor before starting. It is also recommended for a competition.
