Practical training (8op)

Osaamistavoitteet

The aim is to familiarize with the field of media education in a real-life working environment. Practical training may be accomplished in the fields of education, adult education or administration, in NGOS, media or other institutions, in design, project work, etc. The duration of the practical training is three (3) months.

Sisältö

The study module consists of an introductory discussion with the responsible teacher before the training, a three-month training period and a web-based reflection part completed during the training, and a feedback discussion after the training.

Korvaavuudet
Applicable work experience or teacher experience may be used to substitute for the training or parts of it. Substitution is not applicable to Reflection on Practical Training (2 ECTS). This part is completed by writing an essay or giving an oral presentation in which the working experience is reflected in the light of suitable academic literature.
The training included in teacher’s pedagogical studies substitutes the study module (10 ECTS) in full.
The substitution application is delivered to the teacher responsible for practical training in the faculty.

Toteutustavat

Three months of practical training. During the training students write a blog and participate in chats with other students engaged in practical training.
